We would like to recognize our ambassadors Xuan Liu and Pete Chen for their valiant efforts at the 2017 World Series of Poker Main Event. With a field of 3,300 players returning to continue their journey for a chance to win the much coveted Main Event bracelet, Liu and Chen started the day with chip counts of 55,000 and 31,700 chips respectively while the chip leader had 247,900 chips. Other notable players in action on this day were Phil Hellmuth, John Monnette, and Daniel Negreanu to name a few. For Pete, the story was a roller coaster ride, dropping as low as 26,000 chips before he picked it up after the first break with a high of 44,800 chips. However, this ride would come to an abrupt halt in the closing moments after the second break. Although the stars were not aligned for Pete, this is just a minor bump in the road as he has already amassed prize earnings of $424,975 in this year's WSOP events with an impressive runner-up finish in a $5,000 No limit Hold'em event for $382,122. Not far away from Pete at a different table in the same room, Xuan was focused and relying on her experience to carry her one step closer to the bracelet. After the first two breaks, her chip stack would fall to as low as 15,000 chips. However, the tables turned after the third break as she built her chip count back up to 43,000. With the cameras centered at Xuan, a player shoved with Ax Jx, to which she reshoved with Ax Qx, only to find that a player behind her would wake up with cowboys. Though they may have made exits in this year's Main Event, it's merely a matter of time until both will get their chance for the Main Event glory.
